Migration

With regard to employment and healthcare, the laws concerning migration do not discriminate against migrant sex workers or other migrants. Either a citizen of Hungary or, in theory, a citizen of one of the member states of the EU may exercise sex work as a business activity, in accordance with the Treaty of Rome. However, none or few non-EU citizens have made a formal request to exercise prostitution. With regard to sex work, current legislation does not differentiate between a native citizen and a migrant sex worker; however, a sojourner’s permit (permit to stay) is required for non-EU citizens who intended to stay in Hungary for more than three (3) months.
